tell me about the personal-web concept & examples of people/websites of it

All of these websites are somewhat boring, other than gwern, just on the merits of not having interesting text?

Like there's not much you can do to make your words good with html

If you notice my stats so far, you'd see that it's mostly LessWrong, not because of the efforts of Ruby Bloom to make the links work real good or have amazing integrated widgets but just because the content is interesting/insightful. maybe the eigenkarma is doing the trick? I doubt it
